    Maximilian (Jewett), bapt. (Bradford) 4 Oct. 1607; d. at Rowley, Mass., where he was buried [died; Rowley records give his date of death, not of his burial] 19 Oct. 1684. He is believed to have come over with Rev. Ezekiel Rogers in 1638, and settled in Rowley in 1639, with his first wife Ann, whose family has not been identified. Their marriage is not recorded at Bradford, She was buried at Rowley, 9 Nov. 1667. He m. (2) 30 Aug. 1671 Ellen (Pell) Boynton, widow of John Boynton of Rowley, who married (3) at Ipswich, 1 June 1686, Daniel Warner. Sr., and died as his widow at Rowley 5 Aug. 1689. Maximilian Jewett was one of the first two deacons of the Rowley Church, ordained 3 Dec. 1639. He was a freeman 13 May 1640, and many times representative in the General Court. His long will was printed in full in the Essex Institute Historical Collections, vol. 22. pp. 2-4.

    Deacon Maximilian Jewett, s/o Edward, bp. Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, 4 Oct 1607, d. 19 Oct 1684, came to New England in 1638 with wife Ann and brother Joseph. Deacon of the church 13 Dec 1639 for 45 years. Married (2) 30 Aug 1671 Elinor (Pell) Boynton, widow of John Boynton. Will of "Maxemillian Jewett of Rowley", dated 8 Jan 1682 and Aug 1684, proved 25 Nov 1684 [written 1664 which is clearly incorrect], names wife, "her son John Boynton", "my Eldest son Ezekiell Jewet" [sole executor], "my son Joseph Jewet", "my daughter Anna ... her son Jonathan Barker [under 21] ... rest of her children", "my daughter Mary Hazeltine", "my daughter Elizabeth Hazeltine", "my daughter Faith Dowse", "my daughter Sarah Jewet". Inventory of his estate "deceased Oct. 1684" taken Nov, 1684, by Nehemiah Jewett, John Dresser and Leonard Harriman.
