She was a teacher in rural school for a short time during her earlier years. Maxine worked for the telephone company for some twenty-six years, starting as an operator and retiring in June, 1976, as a supervisor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, mother and father, Mack and Anne Terwilliger, three brothers, Warren, Dennis and Doyle, and one sister Ruth.
