In the late 1960's, Maxine and Arthur moved to Arkansas, where she became active in the Daughters of the American Revolution(DAR) and served as the vice regent of the Gilbert Marshall Chapter. She also participated in the Mayflower Society, Fuller Society, Colonial Dames and Quilters Guild.
