Obit: Maxine Nittler, 91, died October 2, 2007 at Fleur Heights Care Center. She was born May 25, 1916 to Harold and Carrie Morris in Guthrie County, IA. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday October 6, 2007 at Hamilton's Southtown funeral home with family greeting friends Friday October 5, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Maxine lived most of her life in Des Moines and had worked 14 years at Wendy's Restaurant on S. W. 9th. She enjoyed her job and made friends easily with the customers. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Max" and handed out tootsie rolls to her customers. She is survived by her two sons, Jack (Glennis) Nitttler and Bill (Fran Allen) Nittler both of Des Moines. She also leaves seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard and a daughter Patty Lewis and a granddaughter, Carrie Nittler.
