Funeral Services were held Tuesday, April 16, for Maudie Young House at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Mr. Dewey McDowell of Hayti officiated.
Born July 8, 1909, in Decatur County, Tenn., Mrs. House died April 14 at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis at the age of 64.
Daughter of the late Roy L. and Artelia McCaig Griggs, she was employed as a clerk at Poteet Brothers Hardware. She was formerly married to Elbert Clyde Young who preceded her in death November 25, 1951.
Ms. House was married to Truman House at Caruthersville on January 23, 1954.
She leaves her husband, Truman House of Steele; two sons, Albert Young, Hayti, and Fred Young, Blytheville; two daughters, Florence Garrow, Steele, and Ruby Jones, Caruthersville; three brothers, Clarence Griggs, Guy Griggs and Glennie Griggs of Humboldt, Tenn.; one sister, Gertrude Lawler, Eaton, Tenn.; and ten grandchildren.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
