Notes on Parentage

Matilda Wax was clearly the daughter of a Henry Wax, as stated in her marriage record in Botetourt County. She is assumed to be the daughter of Henry Wax, Jr., and Catherine Book, (1) as she appears to be several years too young to have been a daughter of Henry Wax, Sr., (2) was not mentioned in Henry Sr.'s will written in 1796, and (3) her marriage record did not indicate that her father was deceased in 1820, which Henry Sr. clearly was in 1820.
