  2.   Obituary: Matilda (O'Malley) Elkins Died, at her home 3 miles north of Edansville November 30th, Matilda beloved wife of Woodford Elkins and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. O'Malley, after an illness of only one week caused by an injury from jumping off a horse while visiting her sick mother. The beloved was the youngest child and leaves a husband and babe, father and mother, one sister and four brothers to mourn their loss. She was born near Sedan , Kans, March 4, 1882, her age at death being 24 years, 8 months, 26 days. In 1884, she moved to Missouri, locating near where she resided at time of death. On January 28, 1903, she was united in marriage to G. W. Elkins, and to them was born a baby boy April 4, 1905. She was laid to rest in the graveyard on her father's farm Saturday, December lst. The beloved was a good Christian and a member of the Catholic Church and feared not to go. Weep not, dear ones, she has gone to a better land. Our loss is heaven's eternal gain, and by following the footsteps of Jesus we will meet her on heaven's bright shore.Source: Houston Herald Published: December 13, 1906
