!RESEARCH: check out the birth location in the marriage microfilm or ask Lisa for clarification. The German Town Locator does not have a Garen. The only town in Germany listed on that service beginning with Garen is Garenfeld in Nordrhein-Westfalen. (23 Feb 1996) Another series of maps, der Grosse ADAC General Atlas shows such a town, Garen (on page 28 near Lindern.) It also shows Nieholte on the same page, near Lastrup.(8 May 1996) This Garne is in Schleswig-Holstein (9 Jun 1996).
