Mary Young was baptised on 21st December 1783 at Ardeley in Hertfordshire, daughter of Joseph and Sarah Young.
On 18th June 1806, aged 22, Mary married an agricultural labourer called Charles Everitt at Norton, about eight miles north-west of Ardeley. They initially returned to Ardeley after their marriage, having their first son baptised there in October 1806. They then moved about fifteen miles south of Ardeley to Bayford, where their next child was baptised in 1808. By 1810 they had moved again to Broxbourne, where they settled, having a further six children baptised at Broxbourne between 1810 and 1824.
The 1841 and 1851 censuses each find Mary and Charles living at Broxbourne Common. In 1851 Mary was also described as being a farm labourer.
Mary died at the age of 69, being buried at Broxbourne on 13th April 1853. Charles survived her by seven years.
