OBITUARY: KNIGHT, Mrs. Mary M. Merced Express, February 5, 1897 LOS BANOS ITEMS. [Enterprise.] Mrs. Mary M. Knight departed this lie on January 23, 1897. Mary Worley was born in Indiana on December 23, 1833. In 1852 she was married to J. H. Knight and came west in 1862. When she was 18 years old she gave herself to Christ, accepting Him as her Savior. Her great desire during her illness was that she might be able to attend religious service. She said she was trusting in the Savior and His mercy. The testimony of all that knew her was that she was a good woman. The funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. Edgman and the funeral was largely attended. She leaves nine children and quite a number of grand children besides many friends and other relatives to mourn her loss, but we sorrow not as those who have no hope, knowing that she was trusting in Christ. We extend, unto her family our sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
