Pennsylvania Gazette 25 January, 1759 On Sunday the 7th instant the house of Moses Dickey in Paxton twp, Lancaster Co was burnt to the ground, when his wife, 1 child and a person working with him, were burnt to death. Another child by jumping out of a window broke its thigh bone, and a third so badly burnt, that it was thought it could not live. Moses Dickey was the only person that escaped, but not without being a good deal scorched. He lost several hundred pounds in money and everything that belonged to the house.
