  3. This OneWorldTree inspired death date goes to the "Mary Wheeler of Boston" that married in Nantucket 11 Dec 1718 Barnabas Gardner (1695-1768) and died as widow Mary Gardner in Nantucket 18 Jan 1788 (both marriage and death found in Nantucket VRs). The death record does not include an age at death. Prominent secondary sources (e.g., Thomas Garder, Planter; Austin), and others, don't seem to identify her any more precisely than Mary Wheeler of Boston, and she doesn't seem to be mentioned in Wheeler Genealogy. Is it possible that an orphaned Mary ended up in Boston? Yes. Is it likely her, given that there are a couple of Mary Wheelers whose birth is recorded in Boston in a suitable time frame that this may refer to? Probably not. Named no children either Samuel or Sarah (see Austin, or NEHGR, p. 109:80).
