Obituary of Mary Maude Weaver Griner as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 17 Feb 1956. Camilla, Georgia. Mrs. Charles G. Griner, prominent Mitchell County woman, died at the age of 76 early Monday morning, 13 Feb 1956, at Mitchell County Hospital following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, 14 Feb 1956, at 3:30 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev Agan of Norman Park officiating. He was assisted by the Rev Charles Duncan of Camilla. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pall bearers were L. B. Brooks, C. W. Brooks, Euco Luckey, Alfred Luckey, Albert Palmer and Toby Palmer. Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Daughter of the late James L. and Florence Law Weaver, Mrs. Griner was the former Miss Maude Weaver and was born in Andersonville, Georgia. She moved to Mitchell County at the age of 16. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist church and in her earlier days took an active part in church and community affairs until her ill health forced her to discontinue them. Besides her husband, Charles G. Griner, she is survived by one daughter; Mrs. Joe G. Crovatt of Camilla and one son; Charles L. Griner of Camilla; two sisters, Mrs. R. F. Bennett of Norman Park and Mrs. N. E. Nesmith of Ocala Fla; two brothers, Douglas Weaver of Moultrie and Joe B. Weaver pf Norman Park; five grandchildren also survive.
