Mary Warner's origins have yet to be established. If the age quoted when she died was correct, then she was born around 1788. Her first confirmed sighting is on 17th January 1814, when she married James Everitt at Hitchin in Hertfordshire. They do not appear to have had any children. James died in 1827, aged 33. His last abode was given as Back Street, on the eastern side of the town. Mary survived him by eight years, and was buried at Hitchin on 8th June 1835. She was said to be 46 years old. Her last abode was given as Hitchin Hill, to the south-east of the town on the road towards London.
