Mary D. Vangorden is the daughter of Henry Vangorden and Catharine Carter.

Henry & Catharine had 8 children. My 2grgrandfather was their son Samuel T.

Vangorden (twin to Mary). They lived in Union County, Ohio.

The only information I have on Mary is that she is twin to Samuel T., born

Oct. 21, 1825. Married Philander Spain on Oct. 5, 1843.

Henry Vangorden was born July 10, 1795 in New York. Died Nov. 18, 1868 in

Freemanton, Illinois, Effingham County.

Catharine Carter was born Nov. 20, 1792 in New York. She died April 19, 1866

(I think in Illinois).

Henry remarried to Anna Hatcher.
