   Mary wife of Israel Nichols D Mar 28 [16]88

   In the Hingham records both Mary Nichols and "Ruth Daug of Joseph Joy" are shown dying 28 Mar 1688. In the Hobart Journal, Mary Nichols is listed on 26 Mar, and "Ruth Joye" is listed on 27 Mar. That Peter Hobart shows two different dates seems to suggest he was an active journal keeper, and suggests his dates may reflect more precision that the town clerk?
