Transcribe from an undated, unattributed, newspaper obituary clipping in the collection of Myrtle Pierce. ~ Mrs. Jennie Miller Mary Jane Thompson was born April 26, 1873, at Numa, Ia and departed this life at her home in Moline, Ill., May 26, 1935. She was united in marriage to John W. Miller, Sept. 30, 1891, and to this union was born two children, Roy Miller of Moline, Ill., and Mae Brown at home. surviving are the husband, son and daughter, and one grandson, Junior Miller of St. Louis, Mo; one grandson, Beverly Brown, passed away in August, 1922. She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Frank Pierce of Davenport, Ia., and Mrs. M. L. Leonard of Udell, Ia., who were both with her when she passed away. She leaves a host of neighbors and friends. To know her was to love her. She was converted at the age of 14 and was ready and wanted the end to come. The funeral was conducted at Esterdahl chapel at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday, by the minister of the Lutheran Calvary church: The text was taken from 2nd Timothy. The casket was banked with flowers, tokens of friends and neighbors. Burial was in Riverside cemetery beside her grandson, Beverly Brown. |
