In Westerly, R. I., Sept. 16th, after a distressing sickness of fever, Mrs. Mary Babcock, consort of Asher M. Babcock, in the 41st year of her age. Sister Babcock was formerly a member of the Seventh-day Baptist Church in Scott, N. Y., but at the time of her death was a worthy member of the church in Pawcatuck, R. I. She was a devout Christian, and an ornament to the cause of Christ. Her severe illness she endured without a murmur, and sweetly fell asleep in Jesus, without a struggle, leaving no room to doubt of her abundant entrance into the saints' everlasting rest. The loss of her affectionate husband and surviving children is irreparable. The church has lost a great help and a bright ornament. The Female Benevolent Society is bereft of one of its most active members, and the community of one of its best citizens.
