    Mary Alice Skeeters was the first child born to Wesley Legg Skeeters and Rutha Ann Tindall Skeeters.

    She was born in Limestone County, Alabama in 1857. He father and mother moved to Nacogdoches County, Texas in 1858. She grew up near the town of Appleby, Nacogdoches County, Texas. She met and married James Redding Mixon and they made their home near Cushing.

    They had three daughters, Lelia, Ethel and Lily.

    She died in Cushing, Texas at the age of 63 years old. She was buried in the Cushing Cemetery.
