Mrs. Mary Shepard Still, 92, of Steele passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Caruthersville Nursing Center in Caruthersville.
Mrs. Still was born May 5, 1920 in Wardell, MO., to the late William Walter Shepard and Eva Dillard Shepard. She was united in marriage to Quentin Still in Marion, Ark., on March 26, 1939. He also preceded her in death as did a son, Buddy William Still.
She was a graduate of Wardell High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and possessed the longest continual membership in the First Baptist Church at the time of her passing. She joined the church in July, 1940.
Survivors include one daughter, Darla Fisher and her husband, Mitchell, of Steele; one son, Quentin Wayne Still and his wife, Carolyn, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; eight grandchildren: Michelle Jones, Wayne Still, Sean Still, Jennifer Long, Page Walker, Shane Still, Kristen McKay and Ashlea Hundhausen.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 1, 2013 at the first Baptist Church in Steele with Pastor Michael Funderburk conducting the service and Jim Clark and Lorene Clark providing the music. Burial followed at Pemiscot Memorial Gardens near Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Fisher Jones, Chuck Jones, Wayne Still, Chuck Jones, Wayne Still, Sean still, Shane Still and Jason Long.
John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
