Facts and Events
Mary Jane Robson was born in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, in 1882. Her father, Joseph Oswald Robson, was an Iron Moulder. The family lived then at 25 Norton St. Middlesbrough. At the time of the 1891 Census they were living at 5 Dundas St. The circumstances of her move to Birmingham are unknown, but she was living there in 1906, when she married George Taylor, a Whip Thong Maker. They emigrated to Canada around 1910, and may be the George and Mary Taylor that appear on the 1911 Canada census working as servants on a farm in Halton County, near Toronto. They later settled in Toronto, on Westmoreland Ave., where her brother Christopher Robson also lived, as did the Rider family, who were probably the family of her older sister Ruth. References
