According to census records, Mary Richardson was born in North Carolina in October 1864. She married John Casey when she was about 20. The settled in Texarkana, Texas where they raised 8 children. They moved to Shreveport, Louisiana prior to 1920. Sometime prior to 1930 Mary was committed to the Central Louisiana State Hospital, a mental institution in Pineville, Louisiana where she died on 4 July 1938. She is buried in the family plot in Eylau Cemetery near Texarkana, Texas.
