Mary Margaret "Margie/Marcie" Grisham, 98, of Rogers, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, at the First Baptist Church in Rogers with Rev. Steve Durbin and Rev. Steve Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Walkers Creek Cemetery near Cameron. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the First Baptist Church in Rogers.
Margie was born in Temple, Texas, to the late John Bell Hood Plaster and Isa (Ilie) Elizabeth Neal Plaster. She graduated from Temple High in 1933. She married Ivy Glenn Grisham in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She had owned, operated and or worked in many beauty shops in and around the Temple area, the longest Mar J's Beauty Salon for many years. She had also worked as office manager for Jesse Kirk Trucking. She was bookkeeper for Temple Ford Tractor and Wayne Shirley restaurant for several years. She was the director for Harvest House in Temple for many years where she was instrumental in starting the meals for the underprivileged. She was a member of the County Line Baptist Church in Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; two grandsons; a sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Kennon and husband, Dean, of Rogers; granddaughters, Deanna S. Kennon, and C. Denise Culver; great-grandchildren, Kenneth Wade Fowler and wife, Jodi, Krystal D. Allison and husband, Clayton, and Ashley R. Fowler; great-great-grandchildren, Andrew Lane Fowler, Elyzabeth Allison, Hannah Allison, Jacob Fowler, and Marcie Fowler; other relatives and many friends.
