[Note: see Middlesex Probate 25448: James Woods' widow had died and he left no issue. His estate was divided among siblings 13 Apr 1719, including the "legal Representatives of Catherine Wood", i.e., her children by Joseph Newton. This does not include Mary, so presumed dead. Not named in 1726 will of her father, either.]

  3. Per Newton Genealogy, p. 48, says the "historian of Marlborough" (presumably Hudson, p. 48) marries Mary to David Brigham, but this is an error, as David married the widow of Edward Newton, Mary (Leonard) Newton (as can be shown by Edward's probate file, for example, Middlesex 15886). Hudson also gives an invalid 2nd marriage for Mary's father (it was Daniel Newton that m. 1679 Susanna Morse, not Joseph, per VRs) and an invalid death for Mary's mother (not found in VRs - possibly mangled her actual death in 26 Jan 1716-17 to 26 Jan 1677 to fit with erroneous marriage?) in his coverage of this family, so not his best work.
