Note: 27 Aug 1917: Nathan has to list his wife's maiden and married names in his pension record. He wrote them as Mary E. A. Mohler and Mary E. A. Carl. Note: 27 May, 1931 in THE ATHENS MESSENGER: Note: "Seeking Partition, Elmer Carl Brings Action to Clear Up Bedford Estate. POMEROY, May 27. - Suing for a partition of his mother's estate in Bedford Township, Elmer Carl becomes the plaintiff in the case, and John Carl and his wife, Lydia, Gertrude Cool and her husband Fred Cool, and Ellen Carl are made the defendants. The petition sets out that Mary E. Carl died intestate on August 29, 1926, leaving a farm of 49.25 acres in Bedford Township, and leaving her husband, Nathan Carl, who has since died and the heirs at law mentioned. On November 14, 1925, the plaintiff further sets out the interests in the farm of Izetta Stiles and husband, Noel Story and wife, and Raymond Story and wife, and that he now owns eleven-thirtieths of the farm. He asks that the farm be divided or sold that each of the heirs may get their proper shares."

Note: 1979: In THE MEIGS COUNTY HISTORY BOOK, Ibid, in the second paragraph of an article about Mary E. Hale Mohler Carl, born 1851, Mrs. Homer (Palma Louise Mohler) Goodwin, b 17 Dec 1926, d Fall, 2000) wrote: "Mary, daughter of Isaac and Katherine, or Catherine, or Carolina, Landaker Mohler, was first born child; second was John Casper Mohler, born 12-17-1854; third, Isaac Arthello (Oh) Mohler, born 1-9-1856; fourth, Dora Georgetta Mohler born 11-1-1863. Nathan and Mary had five children: John Orthello Carl, born 10-23-1870; Izetta, born 1871; Kate, born 1874; Ella, born 1876, lived all her life at home, never married; Elmer, born 1879, lived all his life at home, never married." In the last two paragraphs of her article, Palma wrote: "Nathan, wife Mary Hale, children Ella and Elmer Carl, are buried at White Oak Cemetery, Meigs County, Bedford Township Road 145. Nathan and Mary Hale Mohler Carl lived and raised their family on this farm on Township [Road] 145, that Mary inherited from her parents."
