Mary M. Vasbinder, 77, of 295 S. Main St., Pleasantville, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.
Born July 26, 1923, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Francis and Bridget Lonergan Moffett.
She was a 1941 graduate of Oil City High School.
Mrs. Vasbinder had been employed for a brief time during World War II at the Oil City Glass plant.
She was a member of the Pleasantville Community Church; was an active member and strong supporter of the AA program since 1964; and was a member of TOPS.
Mrs. Vasbinder enjoyed her grandchildren, cards and music.
She first was married to Clifford O. Woodworth Sr., who died Oct. 14, 1978. She then was married in Franklin Oct. 24, 1986, to John E. Vasbinder Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are the following children: Clifford O. Woodworth and wife, Patricia, of Seneca, Mrs. Larry (Linda) Schwabenbauer of Oil City, David M. Woodworth and wife, Kathy, of Polk, Mrs. James (Christine) Penglease of Moura, Minn., Mrs. John (Melanie) Weaver of Venus, Patrick Woodworth of Nashville, Tenn., and James Woodworth and friend, Barb Keith, of Oil City; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Woodworth of Ohio; two stepchildren, John E. Vasbinder Jr. and wife, Betty, of Pleasantville, and Mrs. Darrell (Katie) Newell of Cooperstown; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three step greatgrandchildren; and 13 nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Vasbinder was preceded in death by a son, Robert Woodworth; an infant daughter, Martha Jane Woodworth; three brothers, Frank Moffett, Joseph Moffett and Sheridan Moffett; and a sister, Mrs. Irene Quinn.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. James Nelson,
pastor of the Pleasantville Community Church, and the Rev. David Hart, pastor of the Seneca
Evangelical Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery, Oil Creek Township, Venango County.
