One source has birth date 8 Jun 1830; one source has death date 24 Aug 1894. Lois S. (Shriver) Willis was told by her mother what a beautiful singer her
grandmother (Mary Ann McElwee) was. She was also told that Mary Ann smoked a corncob pipe with her husband at the end of the day.
L.S. Moorehead insurance application in 1910 has Mary Ann dead of septicemia from a rat bite in 1904 at age 69. That would make her birth date 1934 or 1935. (1834 or 1835)
Other source has birth place Buffalo, OH. Other source has birth year 1829 (gravestone in Senecaville Cemetery).
Sarchet
