Obituary: JASPER, Mo. -- Mary Tullis, 100, Jasper, died at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at St. John's Regional Medical Center after a short illnes Mrs. Tullis was born June 28, 1902, at Carthage to Charles and Malinda (Baker) McDaniel. She was a lifetime area resident and a homemaker. She was a member of the Jasper Christian Church, Jasper. She married James Tullis on Feb. 8, 1925, at Carthage, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Leota Thompson, Lamar; three sons, Bill Tullis, Montpelier, Ind., Charles Tullis, Houston, Texas, and James "Jim" Tullis, Carthage; a sister, Elizabeth Charlton, Carthage; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at the Jasper Christian Church. Burial will be in Hackney Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until service time at the Jasper Christian Church. The casket will be closed at the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar.
