"Mr. and Mrs. Len Cecil, Star Route, Raywick, will observe their Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday with a Solemn High Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, where the pastor, Rev. Robert A. Brown, will be celebrant. A family dinner will be held afterward in the Raywick school cafeteria, and open house is scheduled at the school in the afternoon from 2 to 4.

The couple were married in St. Francis Xavier Church on January 27, 1915. Both Mr. and Mrs. Cecil are Marion County natives. He is now 76; his wife is 68. Mrs. Cecil, before marriage, was Miss Mary McCauley.

The attendants were Francis Henry Mattingly, now deceased, and Lorenzo Thompson, who lives in Ohio.

The Cecils have lived on a farm all their married years. Mr. Cecil suffered a stroke two years ago, and since has not been in the best of health.

They have 11 living sons and daughters; another child is deceased. There are 50 grandchildren and one great-grandchild."
