    To the Memory of Mrs. Petero.
    Mary Jane Mattox was born April 20, 1834. In Union county, Indiana, she united with the M.E. church. Was married to G.S. Petero May 7, 1854. In 1858 they moved to Iroquios county, Illinois, and there united with the Congregational church, where their membership now is. They came to Grant county in September, 1897. Mrs. Petero has been an invalid for several years, and passed away Jun 13, 1898. She leaves an aged companion and two daughters to mourn their loss. The writer preached the funeral sermon from Thessalonians 4-14, toa large and sympathizing congregation. P. Shane, Caldwater [sic], Okla.
