CALKINS –
Mary E. Calkins of Mohawk Valley died July 29, 1978 in a local nursing home at the age of 82. She was born July 19, 1895 in Steele, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Commerce, on April 5, 1970. She was a housewife and had been in the community since 1947. She was a member of the Mohawk Community church, the Mohawk McKenzie Grange, and the Gideons Auxiliary.
She is survived by 1 son, Robert of Olympia, Washington; 1 daughter, Lois Solberg of Springfield; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Glenn Matthews of Springfield; 3 sisters; Mrs. Lester (Fern) Calkins of Sauk Centre, Minnesota, Mrs. Joe (Georgia) George of Miles City, Montana.
Funeral services Tuesday, August 1, 1978 at 10 a.m. at the Mohawk Community church, Pastor Vern Wiggers, Mohawk Community church, officiating. Interment in Valley View
Cemetery. Those who wish may donate to the Mohawk Community Church in her memory. BUELL CHAPEL in charge of arrangements.
