    QUAY 3 Mrs. McDonald. who died 10th of March, was about 100 years of age. She was born in the county of Inverness, Scottand. emigrated to Glengarry in this province, and then came to Mara, where she has resi ded for nearly fifty years, being one of the first settlers in North Mara, where her family at one time held a large property which today is worth many thousand dollars. She was a kind neighbour and w hile able was always the first to wait on the sick or share what she possessed with those in need. As is often the case, she died in obscurity, few knowing of her decease until after the funeral, At t he age of 90 she was one of a number in the township of Mara who suffered from an attack of smallpox, from which she rallied, while some of her grandchildren, quite young, died in the same house wher e she lay sick.
