- Mary McKee Limes was mostly likely the daughter of John and Rebecca Wickersham McKee, of Frederick County, Virginia; although unproven by formal documentation.
John McKee was born around 1773, and died in September, 1825 in Highland County, Ohio.
John married Rebecca Wickersham, the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Frazier) Wickersham on August 7, 1792 in Frederick County, Virginia.
Rebecca was born in 1774 in York County, Pennsylvania and died between 1825 and 1834, possibly in Ohio.
John and Rebecca were married by the Episcopal minister Rev. Alexander Balmain of Winchester, Virginia.
Rev. Balmain also performed the marriage of James Madison, Jr. (President) and Dolley Payne Todd Madison.
Co-incidentally, both Rebecca Wickersham McKee and Dolley Payne Todd Madison were Quakers, and both were disowned by the Quakers following their marriages because they were not married in the Quaker faith.
According to the 1810 U.S. Census for Virginia, there were three daughters not named in John McKee's Will that remain unaccounted for.
Per John McKee's Will, (Will Book 123, page 99 - Highland County, Ohio - 1818) his and Rebecca's children were:
