Jan. 25, 2002 - From Sandra Long ## Not sure if they are related ## Saw your note re Mary Ann Long who married Charles Grunden Was her father's name James Long & were they from West Gwillimbury Simcoe area around the 1860's at all. Just wondering??????? Our Longs are from Ontario in the early 1800's originally from Ireland but then isn't everyone from Ireland.. funny Regards SAndy Long Vancouver, B.C.

Jan. 25, 2002 - From Sandra Long ------- Hi Linda: Yes I agree I was not interested while everyone was alive which is too bad. Interesting to hear your Long was German & that the name Lung comes up too. Would never have thought of that... Funny you have Longs on both sides. It is my husbands family & I have gone back to his grgr grandfather & found he was born 1800 in Ireland & then he shows up in Ontario in 1847. My husband heard from uncles that 4 brothers came & sailed to New Orleans. 1 stayed there & the other 3 poled up the Mississippi River to New York where 1 brother stayed there & the other 2 came up into Ontario Canada. All I have is his name James Long . Of course everyone on his side figures Hughie Long was part of their heritage which I doubt but we will never know. Interesting though. Take Care SAndy
