Facts and Events
Philamon and Mary had three children: Henry, Mary and Jane. Philamon died, and his widow Mary married Nelson Long before 1850. They are listed in the 1850 census in Hampshire Co. Nelson and Mary proceeded to have William E. about 1851 and Nimrod about 1854. They moved to Iowa along with much of Mary’s family in the early 1850s, and the 1856 census lists the older Dunn children. After Mary died in 1859, Henry went to live in Washington County with (Nelson’s brother?) Edwin Long, married to Mary’s sister Lydia. Mary married Uri Webster. Jane, now called Minerva, married William Bingham, and they live with Nelson in Bremer County. This makes Mary and Henry Minerva’s full siblings, and Nimrod her half-sibling, which fits with the 1880 census listing.
