Mary J Hoover Mary J Hoover, 67, of 5902 W Oak St, Bascom, died Thursday, June 5, 200 3, at her home. She was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Bascom to Walter and Lillian (Amlin) Kelble y, and they are deceased. She married Wayne E Hoover Feb. 5, 1955, in S t. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, and he survives. Also surviving are: three sons, Michael Hoover, David (Betty) Hoover, a nd Stephen Hoover all of Bascom; five daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary Ann) C larke of Findlay, Mrs. Mike (Kathy) Nye of Fostoria, Mrs. Eugene (Jane) Sm ith and Mrs. Craig (Karen) Lang of Bascom, and Mrs. John (Linda) Smi th of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a brother, Thom as Kelbley of Parma Heights; and two sisters, Virginia Smith of Bremerto n, Wash, and Mrs. Donald (Sara) Wingart of Bascom. She graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 1954 from Hopewell-Loudon H igh School; also attended Bowling Green State University and the Universi ty of Dayton. Mrs. Hoover was co-owner of Hoover Tax Service and relief Po stmaster for 17 years at the Bascom Post Office. Her memberships included: a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Basco m; past member of the church choir; a member of the Rosary-Altar Societ y; and a church lector for weekday masses. Mary enjoyed traveling, readi ng and attending her children's and grandchildren's school events and the ir sporting events. Rosary will be at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, in the St. Patrick Cathol ic Church, Bascom, and the funeral mass following at 10:30 a.m. with the R ev. Donald R Mueller officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic C emetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice Care or to the Seneca CO Un it of the American Cancer Society |
