Samuel Patton was a Revolutionary War soldier from 1778 - 1782. He first enlisted in the North Carolina Militia in 1778 and served in various campaigns throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia as an infantryman and wagoner. On his last enlistment he served as a scout in a company of militia of the forces of General Charles McDowell in his campaign against the Cherokee Indian Nation who had allied with the British and were raiding along the frontier. He was allowed a Revolutionary War Soldiers Pension (#S8934) on his application executed on October 19, 1832.
