In Memory of Mrs. Wm. Mattox
The angel of death visited another home in our community. The subject of this sketch, Mrs. William Mattox, of Minot, North Dakota, late of Farmer City, Ill., died Jan. 17, 1907, at her home on the North Prairie. Mrs. Mattox was 47 years of age. She was a true and devoted wife, a patient and loving mothers, and a kind neighbor. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Farmer City. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in this city Jan. 21, 1907, at 1:30p.m., Rev. E. Lawrence officiating. The deceased leaves a husband and eight children, 3 boys and 5 girls, all of this city, and many others who will greatly miss her. She was sick less than one week of pneumonia. She passed away suddenly without a sigh to the home of the Blessed. We will never forget the grief of the heart-broken husband and wails of the eight children as they gazed their last on their dear mother's face. Thus death separates husband and wife, parent from children, friend from friend, body from soul - but not the soul from the Savior. May God bless this bereaved family.
