- ↑ Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Turner, 86, widow of the late John W. Turner, native and lifelong resident of Fannin County, member of a poineer family of the area, died Tuesday evening, June 11, at the Copper Basin Hospital where she had been a patient for the past ten days. Mrs. Turner was a charter member of the Williamstown Methodist Church and was active in its activities through the years. Mrs. Turner is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elvin Harper, Copperhill, Tenn. and Mrs. Ralph Harmon, Knoxville, Tenn; one son Howard, McCaysville, GA; three sisters, Mrs M.L. Burne, Blairsville, GA, Mrs. Frank McCoy, Knoxville, Tenn and Mrs. Lon Pope, McCaysville, GA; and 24 grandchildren. Interment was in Pan-Will Cemetery.
