Huron, TN - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Harris Smith, age 86, will be at 10:30 AM Monday June 21, 2010 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Garry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Madison County. Mrs. Smith died June 17, 2010 at Henderson County Community Hospital in Lexington, TN. She was born in Madison County, TN, daughter of the late James Andrew "J.A." and Tennie Pearl Pirtle Harris and was educated in the local schools. Mrs. Smith was presently a member of Cotton Grove Baptist Church and was a past member and pianist at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a devout christian, an avid bridge player and never met a stranger. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Smith in 1990; a grandson; two sisters and three brothers. She leaves two daughters, Ann Weinberg of Huron, TN and Becky Smith and husband, Mike Hogan of Jackson, TN; two sons, Danny E. Smith and wife, Pam of Parsons, TN and Tommy P. Smith and wife, Terri of Lexington, TN; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The family requests any memorials be directed to a charity of donor's choice.
