Hope you find this useful. A. J. ~ Shirley Hollowell is my first cousin. Her dad was, I believe, the eldest in my dad's family (Jesse "Frank" Franklin). However, I've never heard of this John C. Smith before. Now I'm puzzled. My direct ancestors were all dirt-poor share-croppers after grandpa died. I have seen the house that greatgrandma Josephine ordered from the Sears & Roebuck catalog (it was still standing in the late 1980s) on the old place near Sipe Springs. The land there wasn't much good for farming, according to my aunts--too rocky. Got to go. A. J. References
