1842 - Henry JACOB's mother is recorded as Mary Ann GOLDEN. This person has been identified with Mary Ann GREEN on the Tasmanian Archives website. I am assuming they are the same people, but this has not been confirmed. 1851 - Census on 4 March [1]: Mary JACOBS, living in a brick dwelling in Brisbane St, Launceston. Mary indicated that she was married (but no husband was recorded) and that she was free (but not arrived free and not born in the colony. Recorded with her were 5 children all born in the colony - 1 male, aged between 7 and under 14, 3 females between 2 and under 7, and 1 female under 2 years of age. All were recorded as Jews. 1885 - There is a Mary Ann GREEN whose death is recorded in the Portland district on 20 Aug 1885 (Tas Death Reg. No. 1885/1020). This may be her as no obvious records with the surname JACOBS. 1893 - Is not the Mary Ann Jacobs who died from an overdose of eucalyptus oil. |
