Marriage

One contributor states she married James Enno. Stiles indicates that she married Alexander Allyn. Cummings states "conclusive evidence [of the marriage of Mary Grant to Alexander Allyn] is provided in the will of Alexander Allyn, Sr. (1)(Manwaring 2:7-8) where he refers to 'my father-in-law, John Cross,' and 'my mother-in-law, Mary Cross.' S3 These statements refer to Mary (Hull) (Grant) Cross, his wife's mother. Mary Grant's mother married after her father died, John Cross, and they were husband and wife at the time Alexander made his will. The document provides an additional clue, "my sister-in-law, Abigail Grant." Abigail is Mary's sister, who was at that time unmarried. As Alexander would outlive his first wife and marry (second) 24 Dec 1704, Elisabeth Allyn, there is no room for Mary Grant, dau of John and Mary (Hull) Grant to have had another husband. The wife of James Enno is found in Stiles (2:305), Mary Grant, dau. of Tahan & Hannah (Palmer) Grant.
