OBITUARY.
DIED - In Cambridge City, May 16, 1878, MRS. MARY L. CONKLIN, aged 64 years, 9 months and 17 days.
She was born in Butler county, Ohio, July 29, 1813. Her parents were William and Mary Frazee. She was married August 8, 1831, to Mr. Felix Conklin, who, with three sons, survive her. In 1836 they went to Liberty, Union county, where she united with the M. E. Church under the ministry of Rev. Snyder. In 1852 Rev. L. W. Monfort became pastor of the Presbyterian Church there, and she united with his church by letter. The family removed to Cambridge City in 1869. Soon after their arrival she met with an accident which made her a cripple and an invalid and deprived her of the privilege of attending church.
Mrs. Conklin was esteemed by all who knew her, and at home her presence for years had filled the house with gladness. During the eight long years of physical suffering, most of the time confined to her house and room, she bore her affliction with meekness and long suffering. Her faith in the Savior failed not, but supported her to the end, and enabled her to give kind words of counsel and exhortation to the loved ones who so faithfully ministered unto her. As the shades of death were gathering around her she told her friends that the hopes of her future life were settled long ago, and that all was well. She sank to rest calmly and peacefully on Thursday at 9:30 A.M. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."
