As written by the youngest daughter of Mary (Clark) Farrell, Lois Andrews. Our Mother died at the age of 42 when I was only 10 weeks old. She had been in the hospital to have her gall bladder removed and back in those days, when you gave birth to a baby, you were kept in bed for guite some time. So in addition to being bedridden from having the baby, she was inactive due to the gall bladder problem. She was coming along fine and Dad was up to see her that evening and they were planning to discharge her the next day. But by the time Dad got home to Winterport from Bangor, the hospital had phoned and said she was gone. So in hindsight, it must have been a blood clot that took her from all the inactivity. Something like that wouldn't have happened in today's world with all the blood thinners they have now.
