From notes of Mamie Farrall: Granny Farrall, nee Mary Fardell was a midwife in Malpas for a number of years, worked with Dr. Leigh. She took her midwives certificate early in 1900.

[Mary married a William Graham in Carlisle June 1878. In 1881 a Mary Graham fitting her profile was in the Carlisle Infirmary, butcher's wife, age 23, married. A William Graham, age 24, butcher, married, lived by himself at 110 Caldcotes St, Carlisle at the same time. It is not known what happened to William Graham.]

From Sept. 1987 notes of Bill Farrall, as given by Mamie Farrall: I remember her on one of my visits, a small frail person, who smoked cigarettes.
