MRS. MARY E. LEEMAN, 86, DIES AT HOME NEAR AROMA- Mrs. Mary Magdalene Leeman, 86, wife of Alfred Leeman, died at her home, two miles west of Aroma, at 12:30 o'clock this morning, of infirmities of age , after a long illness. She was one of the well know women of that community, having spent her entire life there and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. Mrs. Leeman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Eller and was born east of Arcadia, February 9, 1843. On October 8, 1863, she was united in marriage to Alfred Leeman who with five of the seven children born to their union, survives. The children are: Mrs. Jacob Faust residing southwest of Elwood; William Leeman of Aroma; Mrs. Herman Harvey of Louisville, Ky; Mrs. Elvin Haworth near Aroma and Mrs. Charles Phayer near Omega. There are thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren John Eller residing near Arcadia is a brother. Mrs. Leeman had been a member of the Omega Christian church almost her entire life and was a regular attendant at its services while her health permitted. Funeral services will be conducted at the Omega Christian church Sunday morning at 10:30 and the burial will follow in the cemetery at Aroma. Elwood Call Leader, Friday 23 August 1929 References
