"… From the records of the Lee and Griswold families we learn that Mary2 DeWolf (born about 1656), who must have been a daughter of Balthasar, married Thomas Lee, as his second wife, between 1677 and 1680; and that after his death she became, in 1705, the second wife of the second Matthew Griswold of Lyme, taking with her to his home her daughter Hannah3 Lee, who married Mr. Griswold's son, afterwards known as Judge John Griswold, and became the mother of Governor Matthew4 Griswold."
