    Mary Davis married John Sampson on August 6, 1743 in Culpeper Co., Virginia.

    It has been related that her husband John died while traveling to Valley Forge in 1778. (I have been unable to verify this claim.) Mary lived on the land until her death in 1824.

    Mary wrote her will on August 11, 1824.

    She is believed to be buried on the land known as the John Sampson Cemetery.
