Mary E Burgess, 96, of Kansas died Sunday afternoon at Genoa Care Cente

She was born in Elmore to Charles F and Nellie (Cowley) Damschroder. She m arried George P Burgess in 1931 and he is deceased.

Mary graduated from Elmore High School in 1925 and St. Vincent's Medical S chool in 1929 and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a nurse at the former Lucas CO Hospital until retiring in 1970.

Mary was a member of the Church of Christ in Elmore, Order of the Easte rn Star and a longtime worker with the American Red Cross.

She is survived by brother Charles Damschroder and several nieces and neph ews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded by her parents and brothe rs Burton, Wilbur and Donald and sisters Annabell Damschroder and Gladys V eres.

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funer al Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Blair Miller of ficiating.

Burial: Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania.

Memorials: Donor's choice.
